Fleet Appliance Holbrook Oven Repair Man Offers Feng Shui Kitchen Tips

Oven placement tips to make sure positive energy flows around the kitchen in a natural, balanced and positive way

Holbrook NY – The local oven repair specialist with Fleet Appliance Service provides Feng Shui advice to ensure positive energy in the kitchen. The kitchen is one of the most important rooms in the home from a Feng Shui perspective because this is where food for a healthy body is prepared.

A lot of advice can be on the web about Feng Shui kitchen arrangement, kitchen d├ęcor, oven placement and more. Some advice warns about the consequences and problems from failure to adhere to rules of good kitchen placement. The problem with this advice is that it assumes one is building a new home or has a large budget for serious renovating. Though the kitchen is one of the most expensive rooms to remodel, the oven repair man says there are many Feng Shui problems that can be solved without expensive remodeling.

Feng Shui enthusiasts believe the kitchen is the most problematic room in the home for a negative flow of energy. The focal point of the kitchen is the oven which represents fire; however, other large items like the refrigerator, dishwasher and sink are water based. The fire energy from the oven can be overcome with the water energy, leading to destructive energy in the kitchen and possible friction in relationships between occupants in the home. Tips from the local oven repair man provide some easy solutions.

If it is necessary to move the stove then one should call a certified appliance service technician to make sure it is properly installed. The unit should be level and hooked up properly, whether gas or electric. Anti-tip devices can also be installed to prevent serious accidents in the kitchen. The oven repair experts at Fleet Appliance Repair (http://www.fleetappliance.com) can help.

Fortunately there are other ways to provide support to the oven that do not require the expertise of an oven repair man. If the oven is placed on a south facing wall it will automatically be strengthened by its placement in the fire area of the room. Color can be used to provide support as well. Green is an excellent color because it represents wood which supports fire while taking its own energy from water. Red also supports the fire element but should be used sparingly.

The final tip from the oven repair technician is to keep it clean and in good repair. Replace faulty burners right away and only have it repaired by a certified stove and range repair specialist.

Fleet Appliance Repair Holbrook Expert Addresses Repair versus Replace

What factors determine the decision to repair an appliance rather than purchasing a new one?

Holbrook, NY – Fleet Appliance Repair Holbrook owner Bob Dougherty has noticed a change in consumers’ decision making factors that determine whether they should repair or replace appliances. “I think the reason for this is because people are uncomfortable with the idea of spending money on a new appliance when their existing appliance can be repaired for much less,” said Dougherty. “I’ve even found that people will choose appliance repair even if the cost is only $100 less than the purchase price of a new one

Before the recession, people were comfortable with the idea of buying a new appliance if the repair costs of their existing appliance would be more than 50% of the purchase price of a new appliance. Today, people are more aware of the impact this makes on the environment. One reason Fleet appliance repair (http://www.fleetappliance.com) suggests to repair rather than replace is to reduce rubbish going into the land fills and save resources needed to manufacture new ones.

According to the Holbrook appliance repair man, there are other reasons people will choose to replace old appliances including Energy Star ratings based on energy efficient features, technical improvements and sleeker looks. Area residents who are happy with their current appliances, will seek a reputable appliance repair service that will provide quality service at a fair price.

Bob Dougherty will not perform an expensive appliance repair service without informing his customer of their options. “If I feel that the appliance is not worth repairing, I will advise the customer,” said Dougherty. “Of course, if they are determined to repair the appliance, I will comply with their wishes.”

Bob Dougherty advises consumers to do their research before hiring an appliance repair service. “Look for a company with a great level of experience and a reputation for customer satisfaction,” said Dougherty. “Check with the Better Business Bureau for complaint reports. Most importantly, make sure they are licensed and insured and authorized to work on your appliances.”

Moisture in the refrigerator compartment? Refrigerator leaking?

Moisture in the refrigerator compartment?

Why is there dew or sweat in the refrigerator compartment?

Some moisture in the refrigerator compartment and crispers is normal. Light sweat or humidity may build on interior walls, shelves, bottles, jars and other containers in the refrigerator compartment.

Moisture in Main Refrigerator Compartment

Excess moisture can be a result of the following:

Opening the doors frequently

Opening the doors frequently can cause sweat or dew to build in the refrigerator compartment. When the doors are opened, humid room air enters the refrigerator. The more often the doors are opened, the faster the humidity builds. Opening the doors less often will help, but may not completely eliminate internal moisture.

Humid environment

During months of high humidity (especially if a home is not air-conditioned), it is normal for some sweat or moisture to build inside the refrigerator when the room air is humid.

Blocked air vents

Make sure the air vents between the freezer and refrigerator compartments are not blocked. See images below. Objects blocking the vents will cause a decrease in proper air circulation, which can cause temperature and moisture problems. Move any items that could be blocking the vents.

Poor gasket seal

Moisture buildup around the door or on the ceiling suggests an air leak, likely due to a gasket problem. The door gasket should seal all the way around on the door. Make sure that nothing is keeping the gasket from making a good seal.

Moisture in Crisper Bins

Crispers are designed to hold moisture in order to keep vegetables fresh.

•             Washing foods before putting them in the crisper can cause excess moisture to form inside the crisper. To control moisture buildup, allow produce to dry on a towel after it is washed, before it is placed in the crisper. Excess moisture could cause produce to prematurely spoil.

•             On models with a moisture control on the front of the crisper, adjust the setting to low humidity or the fruit setting.  Refer to your Use and Care Guide for additional instructions and information about this feature.
